On May 21st, two remarkable events, “Technorama” and “Day of Adventures with KTU”, will take place in “Santakos” Valley, one of most modern and progressive science and business centers in Baltic Region.
Exhibition-contest of young scientist’s works, “Technorama”, will take place for the 14th time, and this year becomes an international event. “Day of Adventures with KTU” comes out with brand new format, and invites record number of high school students, to take part in an alternative open door day.
University is not only the classrooms
On Thursday, 11 am, May 21st, “Day of Adventures” will invite high school students from 5th to 12th grades. They will be familiarized with studies programs and work of each faculty separately and will be able to have some fun.
“We want students to get to know KTU on a deeper level, to reveal the uniqueness and richness of our study programs and community, rather than just showing auditoriums and professors. It is not possible by just presenting the “exterior” of the university.
Science is everywhere around us, not only during studies or researches in labs, but in our everyday life, hobbies and entertainment”, – says the organizer of the event Deimantė Greičiūnaitė.
In order to show high school students, how knowledge gained at the university can be used in practice and transform into actual goods, “Day of Adventures with KTU” takes part at a same time, in a same location , KTU “Santakos” valley, as the “Technorama”, exhibition and competition of young scientists and inventors.
Presentations of faculties and concerts
During the “Day of Adventures with KTU”, participants will also have a chance to take part in an orientation game in “Santakos” Valley. Professors and students will present their faculties, reccomend studies and answer questions to highschoolers in every floor of a magnificent new building.
Participants will also get useful practical details about university requirements, applying process etc.
After seeing every stand and getting special stamps, participants will draw prizes from a “Well of Luck”.There will also be a chance to play sport games, or listen to concert performed by students from KTU, which are known from various talent contests, as well as university rock band “Aitor”, and last but not the least, performance by a student girls of applied mathematics, whose spend their after study time performing.
Organizer of the event D. Greičiūnaitė says that the concert reveals versality of KTU’s student.
“Participants will also have a chance to see the “Technorama” exhibition, as it will take place at a same time. The participants are welcome from 11 am., because from 10 am, commision will be seeing “Technorama’s” stands”, – says D.Greičiūnaitė.
Students can come with their class, younger one can be accompanied by parents, elder ones can come alone.
While high school students will be familiarizing themselves with a university, faculties, students etc., current students will present their innovative works in an anual exhibition-contest “Technorama”. For the first time this yearly event organized since 2002, gathers students and experts from all of the Baltic region. Over 70 projects, technological prototypes, etc. are presented to potential investors, analytics or enterprises, as well as people of Kaunas and other cities. Organizers of the exhibition outlines, that this event has a huge commercial potential.
Cash prizes for the best projects
With active participation of academic community, business analytics and investors, the rating of ideas/projects will take place. Authors of most innovative ideas will be awarded with cash reward, from foundation of 5000 euros and special prizes established by sponsors.
Over 2000 visitors come to exhibition anually. This year, guests from other Baltic states are expected as well. Like every year, organizers prepare activities for everyone: high school students will be able to take part in many activities and gain useful information, investors will meet potential projects for their work, agents from enterprises will see talented potential employers and partners.
