Technorama‘2018: Young Inventors’ First Step to Success

Archive | 2018-03-20

On 26 April the traditional science and innovation fair Technorama will take place for the 17th time. Organised by Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) startup incubator Startup Space, the fair is a perfect chance for young innovators, developers, researchers and science enthusiasts to introduce their ground-breaking inventions to the general public and potential investors.

The idea behind Technorama is to expand the perspectives and the outlook of the young researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs on the possibilities of technological solutions. The fair encourages the students and young researchers of the universities in the Baltics to apply their knowledge and skills in business, to introduce themselves to potential investors and to develop their entrepreneurial know-how.

Last year 60 technological solutions were introduced in Technorama and 19 of them were awarded prizes established by various companies and institutions.

“It’s definitely worth to participate in Technorama – for many young innovators this is the first chance to introduce their product to the public. Participation not only offers you a chance to get the assessment of your product from the experts, but also to receive feedback on your product from business: on its possible additional areas of application, on its marketability and ways of development”, says Mantas Venslauskas, researcher at KTU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Design, Director at a startup company Fidens.

Last year Fidens won the incentive award from venture capital company Practica Capital for their innovation – a bracelet, which increases the blood flow in capillaries. The ideas about the product’s adaptation that the Fidens team collected from the Technorama’2017 visitors’ feedback, are already being implemented.

Technorama’2018 invites all young inventors developing technological solutions in any field of science – from chemical technology to social sciences and humanities, from health to interdisciplinary science areas. The innovations will be assessed by the board of experts, and the most innovative solutions will be awarded valuable prizes. The prize fund this year will amount to around 5,000 euros.

Technorama’2018 will take place on Thursday, 26 April at KTU Santaka Valley. Should you wish to participate, please register here.
