21st May – International young scientists’ exhibition/competition “TECHNORAMA 2015”

21st May in “Santaka” valley will be hold the 14th  and this year – international young scientists’ works exhibition/competition “TECHNORAMA 2015”. Application is ongoing till 4th May. All young scientists, students, researchers are welcome to apply their projects and prepare presentations of their ideas.

Main goal – to bring together and show the best talents in Baltic region

Main organizers and executors of “TECHNORAMA 2015” – KTU National innovation and entrepreneurship centre (NIEC), Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA), project Innovative business promotion (INOVEKS), and main sponsor – venture capital group “Practica capital” with partners – Lithuanian and Baltic universities. They all are willing to bring together and show the best talents and more than 70 innovative works for investors, business representatives and local people.

With active participation of academic community, business representatives and investors an expert evaluation of works will be made, in various categories the most innovative young scientists’ works will be selected, which authors will be rewarded by special prizes. Exhibition prize fund is ~5000 EUR.

Ideas of last “TECHNORAMA” became real

Last year venture capital group “Practica capital” scholarship was given for Mindaugas Badokas, who is already established a startup company, presenting his project “Desys” in USA and other countries and is looking for investors. “Desys” is a creative wireless motion enhancer. It is out-of-the-box, plug’n’play device, providing users an exciting and simple way to explore and play sounds using their motion. It can be used as a creative tool by musicians, dancers and artists as well it is an intelligent toy for kids and grown-ups.

In “TECHNORAMA 2011” KTU student Gediminas Neimanas for the first time presented  “Rubbee” his technological solution for bicycle. “Rubbee” – is a universal friction wheel drive, which is unique in that it transfers energy directly to the bicycle tire, without any chains, belt or gear mechanisms.

Children with speaking disorder can use speech therapy toy “Šnekutis“, which for the first time was presented in “TECHNORAMA 2012” by KTU electronics engineering students Linas Sidaras and Marius Gailius with their professor dr. Darius Jegelevičius.

Special entertainment for visitors

Every year exhibition is visited by more than 2000 visitors of all Lithuania. This year visitors from all Baltic region are expected. Exhibition’s organizers are preparing special entertainment for visitors, as every year: excursions in NIEC for high school students, investors will be able to find interesting works to invest in, business representatives will have an opportunity to find talented human resources or business partners.
